George wrote it and shared it with Ringo to help him. To me the message of the song seemed to be to John and Paul. I always thought they hoped that this song would help them get back together at least for a little while. Although they were never at the studio at the same time all of them did go to help Ringo record the album "Ringo", that's as close as they got to a Beatle reunion. One song from John, two from George, and one from Paul.
