George Harrison was stabbed on this day Dec. 31, 1999, but his music(and humor) will live on Forever. "Ding Dong" from his 1974 album, Dark Horse (I saw that tour) and he was great! "Ring out the old, Ring in the New." .Happy 2015 !

I like the stuff that grows all the time. Quite a collection of artifacts.

And here is the seasonal song for the New Year as advertised. While the New Year is still two full days (and part of a third) away, why not play this one a bit early and keep repeating the words and the melody as 2015 slowly approaches and will hopefully bring a better year than 2014 for all.Healthy and happy. And the song is called "Ding Dong, Ding Dong" from George Harrison at # 3243.

For a publicity averse guy, it's cool that George made these goofball, Monty Python inspired vids in the 70s. This was all pre-MTV era. I never knew about these although I know the songs. There were ones from the end of the 70s also.. .the 80s ones from Cloud Nine were more straightforward, except for the Got My Mind Set on You vid which was more along the lines of this one.

Friar Park is so beautiful. There is a great book called FRIAR PARK: A PICTORIAL HISTORY that has lots of great vintage photos of Friar Park.

1974 - George Harrison released the single "Ding Dong, Ding Dong" in the U.S.A. It had been released in the U.K. on 6 December 1974. The words came from inscriptions he found at his nineteenth-century home, Friar Park, in Oxfordshire.#dapimusic #mymusichangout #poprock #christmasmusic #georgeharrison #onthisday #onthisdate

Ha ha, Harrison was my favourite Beatle because he seemed not to give a rat´s ass about many things. I love his "let´s do a video for the song with whatever we can find on Friar´s Park, so I don´t have to get out of my house to record a video" approach, lol..

When you hear songs like this and miss their talents, makes it sad for any new groups: U2, One Direction . . . Etc, that are touted as the next Beatles. Not even close. Those certain groups are just lucky to have todays technology for many to hear. In comparison they are nowhere close to a Beatles sound or talent. There have been some past groups, like the Eagles and a few others that are in a Beatles range, guess time will tell if any of todays groups will ever be hailed as great as the Beatles were.
