Magnifico, prefiero la musica sóla, sin videos de los intérpretes ; se capta, creo, su mensaje, su esencia, de manera mejor

Definitely April Cantelo Soprano - she made lots of discs in the 60s and 70s. First wife of Colin Davis conductor , mother of two of his children. A lovely singer , greatly respected by many composers , Britten included.

Hi , the singer is April Cantelo - a great artist and wonderful lady. She worked with all the top musicians of the 20th century. Benjamin Britten composed for her, as did Hans Werner Henze. She sang with Alfred Deller's consort and was really appreciated for her recitals on Radio 3 which were full of fascinating repertoire. She had great success in Handel and the baroque , but also in Mozart particularly as Blondchen in ' The Seraglio ' at Glyndebourne .

The soprano is April Cantelo one of the finest British sopranos of the post 2nd world war generation. Later a highly distinguished singing teacher at the RNCM and RWCMD.

@atlantis4321 No, Handel would have told you that it was a work of God and kindly admonished YOU not to credit the wrong person.

Thank you! This is the first thing that I listen on a newly installed computer . I like to listen to it every day! I know nothing about music, but I even like to try to sing it. When I sing it it's MY rendition!! Bless Handel's heart! This is one of my favorite renditions.
