Your Friend

Singers note: breath control, diction, terminal consonants, (due to microphone) left foot in front of his right so he could adjust distance to mike [learned this from his autobiography], no sliding from one note to the next, obvious joy of the Lord in his face, and an absolute commitment to mean what he sang. Listening to GBS sing on an LP in our kitchen brought me close to the Savior some four decades plus ago.

If only we could go back to an era similar to that one, where worship was not as "showy" as it is now, and religion was based on a knowledge of God's word and faith.

Oh. What a joy to have lived in this period of time, where it wasn't unpopular to be a Christian. What a beautiful song to remind us of our perfect Savior, when we are not.

Great song. The man playing the piano and most of the audience are dead now probably with the Lord Jesus. The Singer Bev Shea is still alive at 103 years today 5th Jan.2013 as i write this comment. May God help me to live for Him for in Jesus ,there is no Death . Amen

I love this song. It popped into my head the other day, and my sister reminded me that it was one of our mother's favorite songs, which was played at her funeral in May, 2008. I love the music, and the lyrics so much, and also look forward to that glorious day when the LORD will welcome me to be with Him forever.
