Album "River Song" and its singles are using images from Beeckestijn near Vollendam.
Beeckestijn was already dilapidated before the second world war and in the mid 60s it was close to be called a castle ruin.
In the late '60s there was a broadcast in Dutch television about Beeckestijn and how damaged it was.
This created a great rebellion and renunciation in Holland. So they went to refurbished the old Beeckestijn.
It was almost finished in the early 70s. From the start of spent many artists Beeckestijn as backdrop to their record sleeves, etc.
George Baker and his Selection made use of Beeckestijn from the early 70s..
But it was in 1976 that George Baker Selection was made a grand photo session at Beeckestijn. It was in the album "River Song" and its singles.
The video contains images of that time from various record covers. There are also more recent pictures from my hand, and as you can see in the video, so are trees and shrubs grown some since 1976
