Wow, I like this moody shit. Pretty repetitive, and it doesn't really go anywhere -- but I don't care, I like it.

The guitar sounds like a variety of "I know what i like" and a little intro for "In the cage".....

sounds a bit like "Kim" to me. A guitar/flute duett Steve has released on "Please don´t touch"

Bottom-line though, regardless of who influenced who, what, when or where, I'm wagering that the Eno-to-Genesis-and-back-and-forth energetic was like pure osmosis, where the root-words were "Awes" and "Moses." Yup, to me at least, Lamb is like Moses' burning bush that leaves me in awe, always has since 1974, God is in there somewhere, twiddling the nobs, working in mysterious ways. Have you seen the Lamb slide shows?!? First time I've seen them in 38 years, brings a major smile to my third-eye!

Well, I think there was an interview where one of the band members (I forget which) said that much more has been made of the "Enossification" credit than actually happened. As I understand it, Eno was recording one of his solo albums (which Phil played on) at the same studio where Genesis was recording The Lamb, and Eno offered to bring his Synthi AKS to process the instruments and vocals, like on In The Cage and Grand Parade Of Lifeless Packaging.

Who knows what actually went on in that blessed yet crappy-ass studio? I just intuit that Eno was highly involved in the bridges that tried to make it all a much more cohesive LP, not writing anything per se but encouraging Silent Sorrows for instance with his "oblique strategies." And then there was that mysteriously hunched figure off to stage left at the Academy Theater (14th and Broadway NYC 12/6/74), seen twiddling knobs and such, adding much to the atmospherics no doubt. Awed man out.

I'm not sure what you mean by "Enossification". I know that word appears in the credits on the album, but I think it's been said that the only thing Eno actually did was bring his Synthi AKS in and use it to treat some of the instrument sounds. He didn't actually write any of the music or play on the record.

Pretty ambiant, reminds me "It's yourself", an instrumental B side from the time of trick of the tail, in the mood of the intro of Los endos.

Dang I love this, first time hearing it and I've loved Lamb too since 1974 but where would it have fit in? How about after Counting Out Time, kind of a clumsy afterglow Enossification, like Silent Sorrow was for the Lamia?

If you throw in "Silent Sorrow in Empty Boats" with this you've got a pretty nice ambient/prog suite going on here.

The guitar part is reminiscent of "Misunderstanding"

The only song I can think of is PG's Mother of Violence.
