Yes, that's what it looks like in this video - Mike, Phil, Tony playing together, and the other two left out for most of the song .... - the Lamb is the result - a battle between Peter & the rest of the band for control - which Peter wins, sort of, by threatening to leave - but which ultimately, he still leaves despite all the concessions he forced on the others

Awesome!! Phil Collins has always been a GREAT drummer!! You may not like where Genesis has gone since Gabriel left(I certainly don't) but Phil is incredible on the drums. He is one of those drummers, like Bill Brufurd(who has played for Genesis) who looks completely relaxed playing the drums!!!!

Bob, I don't disagree with you. However, you have to remember that Prog Rock in general was in decline by the mid-1970s, especially in England, where much of it originated. This had more to do with economic factors there (the mid-70s English economy sucked, especially hardest hit were young people trying to find jobs) and that the music itself evoked a sort of fantasy voyage, if you will. The end result was punk displacing prog rock. And so the music had to change, coincidentally.

disagree- each album after Gabriel was progressively worse, with "and then there were three" being the worst- they had a choice. Break up, or go in a new direction. And how can you criticize the remaining members of Genesis for going commercial? What do you call "Sledgehammer", or "Big Time"?
