Ahhh Afterglow. its like a fine old wine it matures and gets better with age. Its still the only song out of a couple of billion that can fetch a tear from the very first note to the very end of that great crescendo at the finale. this is whats going down when I go down. and will be played as I slip through them velvet curtains.

Genesis - Slippermen / Afterglow (Three Sides Live)Genesis are a British rock band that formed in 1967. The band consist of their three longest-tenured members: founding members Tony Banks (keyboards) and Mike Rutherford (bass, guitar); and Phil Collins (vocals, drums), who joined in 1970. Former members Peter Gabriel (vocals, flute), Steve Hackett (guitar) and Anthony Phillips (guitar) also played major roles in the band in its early years. Genesis are among the highest-selling recording artists of all time, with approximately 150 million albums sold worldwide.

Well, Christian Bale's character in "American Psycho" nailed with..."It was on 'Duke' when Phil Collins' presence became more apparent. Before that, I didn't really understand the music. It was too artsy, too intellectual." In other words, gone were tedious, boring, sleep inducing concerts, in came Phil Collins a.k.a. "God of drums, singing and songwriting", world-wide fame, success, through the roof popularity and album sales, and sold-out stadiums. Genesis=Phil Collins' band>losers haters.

Ah yes...Nothing says rock star like polyester pants, no shirt, wristbands and a gold necklace.

I think Rome is one of the poorer performances. His effort on the '84 Mama Tour was superb. Two other great ones are Duke Tour in '80 and the European leg of the '87 Invisible Touch Tour. All three are available here though the '87 show at Wembley has only audio, no video.

Have not heard this for years, saw them on this tour - bloody brilliant! This is what talent used to be like, not one direction and X-factor. Ancient songs but still very moving and better than some of the crap churned out these days.
