This song I discovered in 1997 when I started listening to Genesis properly (not hearing them on the radio for awhile by then). This song is one of my favorites on the We Can't Dance album. In fact, I think of my mom (who passed away on 31 March, 2007) when I hear this song and then my best friend Dan passed away a year later in a drowning. Enjoy your friends and family while you can.

My Father is a big genesis fan. He always listened to this and told me from a young age it was about a father losing his son. Ever since my Dad left my Mother, its made me cry. A son who lost his father. A short time ago my wife left me and took my children. I feel I won't see them again. This son has extra meaning for me now. The words couldn't be more apt. So much pain :(
