I'm one of many, I speak for the rest but I don't understand

Tonight tonight, oh tonight, tonight

He brings another day another night, another fight

Well there's another day done and there's another gone by

He's a man of our times a man of our times

Tonight tonight, oh he's burning bright

He's a man of our times, he's a man of our times, ooh, ooh, ooh.

And in the beating of your heart there is another beating heart

All at once I can see what we do,

Me into me and you into you

Me into me and you into you

Tonight, tonight, oh he's s burning bright

Everyone is on their feet cos he is out, out on the street

There's another day done and there's another gone by.

No more me into me and you into you

Tonight tonight, oh he's burning bright.

Man of our times, he's a man of our times

He's a man of our times, ooh, ooh, ooh.

And in the beating of your heart, there is another beating heart

He's a man of our times...

Love this track, just like I do a lot of the other songs on Duke. I think this is one of their most underrated albums.

Interesting comments from Mike in his book in which he cites this as a weaker track and where he was trying to sound like Gary Numan.Wrong on both counts Mikey!!Fantastic stuff; such a powerful band when at their best like this.

To me, I see the lyrics as a tribute to Peter Gabriel, describing him as "a man of our times"...

Light years ahead of their time, like a good red wine the music these men created just gets better with time. Thanks for posting.

It was on Duke where Phil Collins' presence became more apparent.

mike rutherfords signature all the way through, at his peak, with the magic touch of tony and phil on top of it. perfect balance between pop and prog hymn, this is what ''smallcreep's day'' would have sound like if recorded with his former partners.

Very different album from the old ones even "...and now there were three" but not to say it is a bad one, it has great songs, although there is very little prog in here....

Genesis really made an amazing prog album in this one. This being one my favorite songs from Duke. The idea of "sell-out" when it comes to this album is silly. They had cool new technology at their disposal and they used it. This is a killer album.

I agree Elusive, all Genesis albums display the songwriting magic. Those that say they sold out need to listen to the quality - I mean check the songs out by those viewed by many as non-sell outs: Rush "Twilight Zone" (many other shocking songs), I don;t want to criticize other bands but come on!

This sounds like a left over track off of Mike's 1980 solo album Smallcreep's Day. Noel McCalla could easily sing it and it would fit perfectly on the story of the album
