Apparently, this is Ray's favourite song on the album, and I can see why - it kicks off the album perfectly, setting the mood for what is to come with the dark melody and the bleak lyrics.

Unfortunately this is the high point of the album, good though it is. There are a few other songs that are ok ie Congo, Dividing line, etc. but this is sadly one misstep of an album. Ray Wilson does a reasonable job with the material though.
