True heroes are few and far between these days and everybody needs one. What a super song here by Gene. His fabulous voice makes any song a winner. There's all kinds of heroes I feel. When I was 10 years old myself, mine was a precious little man who pushed himself around downtown on a small wheeled board and sold papers. He always had a big smile for everyone and when he died at age 32 I felt I had lost a friend. Thank you GWS for posting another gem by Gene here. - Paula

I was a junior in high school when this song came out. Me and my buddies tore up the Kansas country roads listening to this song and left a trail of cans to prove it. Good times.
