Gene Vincent's "Rose Of Love". Some say it's the last recording Gene Vincent made. Pictures from the Internet were made to make a video. Gene Vincent was a true legend, and a good man. I hope you enjoy. Check out my blog for many good Rock Legends.

what I loved about this man is how he LIVED AND PERFORMED for his fans...NOT FOR HIMSELF. He loved his fans and appreciated them. He was heeded a drunk but was not, his drinking due to pain of his leg and to be able to preform. One day soon I'll visit his grave in Newhall. it's near me.

Gene Vincent brings tears to my eyes with this song recorded shortly before his sad death , as if he wanted to sum up his chaotic life with this beautiful but sad song. His voice is sad. Gene Vincent me met les larmes aux yeux avec cette chanson enregistré quelques temps avant sa triste disparition , comme si il a voulu résumer sa vie chaotique avec cette belles mais très triste chanson . Sa voix est triste .

The very late 60's my dad and uncle (who lived in California, uncle not my dad) took me to see a guy who at 4 or 5 was listening to Gene Vincent. He was so kind I sat on his lap and he loved kids, I asked him if I could call him Uncle Gene, and he said, "Heck Yeah"! A year or two later he would depart this world. This man was a good man!

Actually this beautiful song was written by the late and great Gordon Mills (he's the author of such gems like The Lonely One (Cliff Richard, Tom Jones) , Hungry for love and Gelous Girl (Johnny Kidd, Searchers). Gene makes it his own of course. Nobody does it better!

Gene was an amazing blues singer, he could touch your soul with his voice and this bled over into his ballards. He was the best ballard singer of any of the rock n roll singer from the 50s,no one comes near him.

This was recorded on an old reel to reel tape deck , with just a guitar and a mike, the backing track was sadly added after Gene died,

We have to thank the arrival of You Tube A Gene Vincent fan from way back Never realised he sang such great ballads as are appearing on You Tube His range from My Favourite Dance in the Street to these Ballads is incredible But the strangest thing of All is he never had a No.1 Not even in Top Ten in UK Highest he ever achieved was No.15 Why ??? I dont know or care. He Was Unique As was Elvis ; Roy Orbison Long Live Rock n Roll / Rockabilly The First & Forever TeddyBoy
