Going all the way back to 1995, I have bought every Gene album (and single) since, but this here video today is first of theirs I've seen. WTF!?! Wow! I'm having a hard time reconciling the Martin Rossiter from The Defenestration Of St. Martin promos with the Martin Rossiter appearing in this video. He's a bit of Jude Law mixed with Pete Campbell (from Mad Men), and that's not bad! The video is a lot more sexually charged than I'd ever have expected, too. Thanks for posting this!

they were always just seen as a smiths thing- i see something much more- like if elvis read a bit poetry- i love this band- live and albums they were the best- yeah they didnt have a marr- but i enjoyed and go back to the lyrics as much if not more than smiths

I recall the owner of a jazz club in Sarajevo in 2002 playing this for me and Shaun Hopkins on a quiet Tuesday night when I criticized his musical taste....hats off to him.... superb. Obviously he got a lot of repeat custom...heady days

今天基因國際大出包，害我很想聽 "Gene" 來慶祝一下！Gene 是在當年 Britpop 全盛時期一支不算紅的樂隊，但他們的第一張專輯，唯美程度可是不輸 Suede 的！當時我很愛聽這首 Olympian，所以就跑去買吸滴了。這張專輯在 allmusic 上有著 4.5 的超高分，也不算壞了我的眼光～ 聽那 2:05 開始鋼琴與電吉他的對話，然後漸漸大爆炸，formidable !!!

I have fallen in love with this song. It reminds of the golden days of Britpop. We need artists like Gene back. And what's amusing is that epic songs like these don't even chart in top 20, whereas artists like Rihanna, Taylor Swift and all the commercial pop singers easily have Platinum certifications to their name. This song is a true piece of art, art called music....
