I submitted a song to Gene some years ago. He did consider the song for an upcoming album, but not enough for actual recording. A bit humbling, but I totally understood at the time. "Before My Heart Finds Out" and "You're a Part of Me" with Kim Carnes were great records for Gene too.

Got the auto level control a little high on this one, eh?. This one, from ABC Records in 1977, hit both the pop and country charts, and is still a favorite of mine.

Damn, I forgot all about this song. You know if you just look up one you run into many more. More then than now and the new ones will never be looked up and bring memories about much of anything..

This song was such a crowd pleaser and one of the more rockin' tunes in the England Dan and John Ford Coley live performance repetoire back in '77 and '78. They would have had a monster hit with it as they did with several other Parker McGee compositions, but alas it went to Gene Cotton.

This song was written by Parker McGee, a brilliant -- and humble -- songwriter who wrote, "I'd Really Love to See You Tonight"; "Nights Are Forever Without You"; "Going Through the Motions of Love" & "I Just Can't Say No To You". I had the pleasure of meeting him and his wife Alison years ago and spending a little time with them. Really cool guy.

When I heard this song on the radio a few months back on Casey Kasem's American Top 40 The 70"s where they rerun the broacast of a certain date and year in the 70"s, it took me back to when I was about almost 5 years old. I remember that song very well, and would love to have the album. Is it on the Rain On album? I saw on the picture videos you posted while listening to the song that it is on the best of Gene Cotton album. Thanks for posting it.
