I hated Numan's Tubeway Army, way back in the late70's/early 80's. I found his vocals/music tuneless and emotionless. I gave up on him for years. I finally relented and gave his later stuff a chance, and was surprised to find that he is actually capable of coming up with strong melodies, and has developed a sombre gothic sound that I find irresistible. His singing voice has also improved dramatically
