One of the best descriptions of Moore's playing I've read. He and Michael Schenker were setting an incredible standard back then. Eddie Van Halen must've kept an eye on them! :)

Gary was the final word if you're talking about chops combined with fire/feel. His playing went to a berserk level at times but he kept it credible. He had the ability to make the hair stand up on the back of your neck. I like this era best. His blues stuff kind of kept him in a box that got tired for me. Blues limited his inventiveness and song writing ability. I know it's more dignified but I loved it when he went for broke and melted faces.
