Check out this sad waltz by Gary Allan. Fun to slow dance to. Allan refused to give interviews after his wife committed suicide in 2004. He was rarely seen in public for years after that and became a sort of recluse when it came to publicity. To this day he never attends awards shows. This tearjerker is the favorite song of J.M. whom I dated for a couple years. No wonder it worked for such a long time. He liked country like me. He liked sad country too. Oh, the irony in this sad song. I have a question for Gary Allen, only it will never be answered because he refuses to be interviewed. Are his songs sad because his wife committed suicide? My favorite human and I used to watch these videos together and comment on the sadness in Gary Allen's song. I'm willing to bet his sound comes from deep personal pain. My favorite human said these songs reminded him of me. I don't know how to interpret that. This song's about unwanted addictions. I don't know how to take that. Or was my favorite human trying to tell me that he felt the same way Gary feels? Lol. Now that's quite ironic and funny if one considers the meaning of the song.
