Always liked Millers arrangements.Simple, original ideas that works. When you hear some of them they´re almost "predictable" after a couple of bars, and you probably say "Oh,, yeah, I could have written this",,, he he,, but you didnt.Miller did.

It appears as the same film footage from Swedish TV concerts also here in Youtube. This great performance above shows Steve Millers diversity and his early learning from jazz masters like Les Paul, Tal Farlow, and such that came to his parents home in the 1950's. This gave Miller an edge of [jazz guitar chords in diminished and augmented progressions heard here in his Gangster Of Love] and an early training that put him well ahead of other rockers that stuck only strictly to R&R major chords. I'm researching to day as I re-process old close-up photos of Steve Miller that I took in 1980 here in his Portland concert that I attended.

Gerald Johnson on bass this is the version from the Rock Love LP live side which was released in 71 but this band is from The Joker tour I would guess there is a King Biscuit live recording from the Filmore East which this could be the video taken from that but just a guess. It is available and is notable because it has some early Fly Like an Eagle tracks on it way before the release of the album. When this show came through OK Freddie King was the opener.

@MrMjp58 Funny enough I was just thinking abt this clip on OGWT (only saw it once and never since but remembered all the 9th chords) so looked it up and here it is.

This clip was shown on the OGWT - mid '75 as I recall. I taped it from the TV speaker with a cassette recorder and played it so often I got to know every morsel; lost long ago tho'. A great artist, thanks for letting me see and hear this again after all this time.

Stevie is wearing a "Beat Club 1972" shirt. Remember when VH-1 had music? I'm searching for "Last Days of the Fillmore" as they showed it in the early 90s.
