I miss Ronnie and his smile and his hugs. He gave the best hugs ever!

Ronnie was one of many under appreciated players from my day. Todd Rungren, Nils Lofgren, Rory Gallagher were some others.

This song played in San Antonio in the late 70's by the legendary DJ, Joe Anthony, of KMAC/KISS. I worked at that time with gang members who loved it. The bagpipe simulation at the end is one-of-a-kind and reminds me of a policeman or fireman's funeral. The honor was definitely appreciated by the home-boys. This is not taking away from the mastery that RM had with a guitar.

It's heartbreaking to think that Gamma wasn't big - their music was brilliant. Ronnie Montrose was such a inspiration and a great guitarist.

There is no good reason this song shouldn't be right up there with "Stairway", "Free Bird", "Don't Fear the Reaper", "Born to Run", and a few others.
