I will NEVER understand why this band was not bigger than Nirvana at the time. This album is amazing.

Isn't it a pity I just discovered these guys...a decent cover.

Gosh, I really, really hate the way they've turned it into a 3 chord dirge. It's so reductive. Awful cover. And I love a bit of drone/shoegaze.

Oh, and the whole alt/indie/punk rock attitude of thinking players who *can* play diminished chords, and even call them by their names, are tedious noodlers who think too much and are ruining rock-n-roll, is such a load of ultra-elitist crap. It's just as or even MORE snobby than the WORST shredder comparing all those underground bands to The Shaggs. It's one of the things that really put me off about my local scene in the 80s. That's why I tricked my band into playing Zep covers at all those grubby punk clubs we played back in the day - just to rub it in their FUCKING FACES.

Yeah, you can call this version a lot of things - heartfelt, simple, direct, honest, maybe a little naive, like kids learning their axes for the first time and stretching to try to play the music of their heroes - but "majestic" is not one of them.

BEST COVER EVER!!!

It's a good cover but I was disappointed that they took out one of my favorite parts of the song, the various quirky chords that George used. Also never ever say the wall of sound technique has not aged well. Every single recording that effectively used it could stand up to any recording yesterday or today that doesn't use it. All Things Must Pass is an under-appreciated masterpiece of studio production, and there's a reason why pretty much every producer and engineer who knows anything about anything today will tell you Pet Sounds is one of the most well-engineered studio albums ever. Those who truly know how to work with a wall of sound style, like Phil Spector and Brian Wilson, know how to do it right.

@entangledtunes- Dudes and dudette. Is there actually a way to 'properly' play an instrument? A lot of technicians, to my ears, sound boring and pointless, even if they have chops.

Um, apparently these guys don't know how to play a diminished chord. George loved diminished chords. There's a reason he put one in. This just sounds like a dumbed-down version of the song for dudes who don't know how to properly play their instruments.

A masterpiece that reinvents (and IMO improves) an already fine song.

I love George, and I'm sure he wouldn't mind me or anyone else saying that this version is the best. In fact, it is one of the best cover versions of any song I've ever heard. G500 go with a better melody line than George, lifting up the notes that George flattened. I think the song is much, much prettier this way. Hats off to George and G500. Epic work all round.

I respect this but Long Long Long live George Harrison. Simple as that.

It's alright but never like Georges !

I think it's because the production on George's hasn't aged just too well. The "Wall of Sound" production never really ages well, and All Things Must Pass isn't an exception.
