Lennon's "YESTERDAY," 1963! Don't tell me McCartney didn't get ideas from his mates!!!

You wonder how many other Beatles songs can be given this treatment. They were under a lot of pressure to do uptempo rock songs because that's what people were buying. When you have a song with great lyrics that is too fast you lose something. My candidate for an up- tempo Beatles song that should have been a ballad? I Call Your Name and When I Get Home.

one of fav beatle songs, & while i seldom like covers, this is excellent...even without the harmonies. who'd a thunk.

This version really highlights how ahead of its time this song was, particularly the melody. It's startling to think such a simple but sophisticated melody was around in 1963.

Cmon her cover really brings out the beauty in this (very) early Lennon composition. I think this sounds like something John would've made during his solo career

Is it wrong for a 17 stone rugby player to cry while listening to this?

The harmonies make the original what it is, if you're not going to bother doing them, don't bother at all.
