Exactly. This means we might actually get to hear some great Merritt songs live with some actual volume, for the 1st time in almost 20 years! I'm not sure what is so bad about that, and the tickets are only $15. I like seeing the Magnetic Fields live with the acoustic set, but I've been craving to see/hear some of his synth-pop stuff live, and this is the only chance of that ever happening, due to his hyperacusis.

I agree with Damon. This did kick start my summer. Its fucking brilliant! F.B.H. is all about Claudia anyway. Can't wait to see them live at Chickfactor and Bowery Ballroom. Shirley Simms will be singing with Claudia for this tour. It does'nt get any better than that!

I asked why on Magnetic Fields' FB page & i got a response from them saying that Stephin is exhausted from touring for Love at the Bottom of the Sea. Don't hold it against him, not only is he just getting older and tired from working so hard, but keep in mind his hearing condition that causes distortion for above average volumes. ALSO keep in mind that Stephin has said that he absolutely cant stand touring & would rather it not be as important as it is. I'm disappointed too but not mad about it.

The fact that Stephin is not performing is completely laughable, silly and wretched. Almost as asinine as him performing at Moog fest and not playing a Moog synth or any synth for that matter. We know that if he had it his way he would never tour at all, but nevertheless . . . Globs of Shame.

So excited for this record. Now it makes sense why Claudia only sang one tune on Love At the Bottom of the Sea, she was warming up for this gem - and warming us up in the process. This is the album that'll kick off summer for me, I can feel it. Just sad that Stephin won't be on the tour :(
