This is terrific!!!!- How do you get such a nice sustain on your tone without the over powering distortion?

Pardon me if this question was already answered, but what's the difference between autoplay and improvisation?

Hey David, I'm glad I found this video! I think you've put into words something that is very difficult to explain, and very true!

I'm not sure I'm willing to give up my brain and let my fingers write nusic for me. That's aways failed me. But this is the first person I've heard talk about the importance of the brain and the 'modes' it's in. This is a topic that I believe is the most importat and most neglected in guitar, in music, and in pretty much any field in life. Subscribed for that reason only!

you put words on what I'm doing with my guitar. People use to say you play rock, hard rock, blues or even punk or funky:))) NO I just play solos on what ever music, that's what I'm doing. I'm doing fusion!!! Thanks.

King of the over-thinkers. How did bands ever manage without all this theory?

There's a lot of that in post-bop as well. You can go into that quartal, pentatonic, suspended arpeggio zone and sound like you're making sense...

I really like this lick, and it does work over A, but I don't think it's an A Dorian lick, to me is a D Dorian lick. If you play it over D, you'll see it also works well, and if you look at the lick itself, it starts, ends, and marks most of the beats with D, and a strong slide down to B to start the last beat of the first bar, B of course being the raised 6th of D, which gives it the Dorian sound. If anything in A, sounds to me like A pentatonic minor with chromatic passing tones. Makes sense?

Nice lick but correct me if you think im wrong this isnt Dorian as theres no major 6th being played. Chromatic blues scale lick would be much closer to the truth
