FFAF are one of those bands that is labeled as the archetype of "soulless emo rubbish" by people that have never listened to it. Really amazing band. Met Matt Davies a few years ago and he seemed to be a very down to earth guy

I agree, there are a lot of musicians, who think they are great musicians, just because they can play 30000000 notes a second. Music is about conveying emotions indeed, and I the only emotion I get with ''shred'' playing is: ''Get on with it! Do something else!'' and then the next typical neo-classical lick comes by... Sure, shred players are insanely talented, but their music doesn't convey any emotion at all. Most of the times -> Less is more. :)
