Such a great Band this was. Make sure to listen to their earlier stuff. It's as good as this but sometimes (maybe all the time...) has bad audio quality. But isn't that what makes it authentic?! ;)

There are no "solos" in old school emotive hardcore, you stupid faggot. There are instrumental passages guided by guitar or bass or spoken vocals. These passages were the transition from hardcore punk and straight edge to emotive hardcore punk and emotive punk rock. Also, FUCK BLACK METAL. That shit has nothing to do with 80's and 90's emotive hardcore. Shitty black metal never influenced emotive hardcore or skramz. Funeral Diner influences are Indian Summer, Portraits of Past, Portrait, I Hate Myself, and other real emo bands from the early 90's.

I can see how this resembles some black metal bands like Agalloch or Akitsa. The melodic parts have the same minor chords and similar progressions, as well as similar rhythm. It doesn't sound like Behemoth or Burzum-esque black metal, but I hear some Mutiilation or Peste Noire in there idk. That's just my opinion.
