FMA follows the first half but the writer hadn't finished the manga. Brotherhood on the other hand is true to the latter half of the manga.

People say Brotherhood is better than the original just because it follows the manga I know I read the manga but that's not a really valid argument. They watch only brotherhood because it follows it BUT I really liked the original yeah the ending kinda sucked but the rest of it was really good like the plot soooo if you haven't watched the original WATCH IT RIGHT NOW because you can't judge it if you haven't seen it yourself
