I used to listen to this in my bedroom in the suburb I lived in. The life I led there was the polar opposite of what was on this record...How in the heck did it all come about? I mean the changes back then were astronomical. If you weren't there you just can't understand.

If you think this is good, you should check out their live version from Swedish television 1966. Look for "Fugs on Swedish TV 1966- part 1" here on YT, the song starts at 6:46 Watch the whole show, both parts, it's pretty amazing. The Fugs could be pretty tight, when they wanted.
