Many things leftists push for ('establishing means to equate populations') would implying a power structure (the government) forcing thing upon populations. Libertarians believe that an individual should be able to do whatever they choose free from government interference.

Libertarians are still Capitalists. They want no government so they can flourish through laissez faire capitalism, not establish decent means of living for the masses. The two groups might desire an absence of government, but for COMPLETELY different reasons.
