Everyone has somewhere they prefer to be in their thoughts and sometimes things just happen. Here's my graffiti: sometimes it happens to me--I get help from unexpected quarters. I've been preoccupied on the music I'm listening to here, a j rolling operation, personal thoughts, and have been mildly irritated at a black fleck on one of my fingers. I take time away from spliff making and music concentration to rub the fleck off--it's too frustration--I succeed not in the removal and meanwhile I waste more time diverted from music, centrality to more valued thoughts, etc. Like someone annoyed a shopping queue is unfavorable I give up and go back to J's, music (why is it we have a common computer character for "$" but not music?). However, there's a fly buzzing around my computer. It lands on my hand a a few times, crawling around. I just observe it. It passes over this black fleck. It accidentally or something removes the fleck I failed to displace somehow. Not the first time.I guess the relationship is topic disturbia. This Heap video filled at "half-speed", where we follow her from the front as she walks around a concrete studio/rotunda, is about as certain an indication you will get that "illuminati" exists, as disturbing as it is. Okay, not 'illuminati' specifically, itself, but the revelation is comparable in ways. "Half-speed' recording means the the original recording speed is edited to assume a different representation speed in the final cut. The final cut doesn't reflect a constant speed increase--relative progression acceleration of B-roll frames undulates according to an instrumental scheme. First editors take the music as a reference to create a time line that indicates final cut frames. Second, they take frames of Heap's direction gesture extrema and place one at each end of a period determined by song respective rhythm/meter concerns. Third, they either tween frames between these or sample evenly, to represent the movement in the newly established number of frames between the editor's selected extrema. This allows for unnatural, precise, rhythmic movement representation, the desired final effect of heap's video producers. However, there is a caveat with this form of recording that challenges world views:Because recording time is not aligned with final cut representation time, you can't video record lip synching with monitored music--the speed you move your lips will be out of synch with the proper expression's phrasing once the b-roll's speed is modified to match rhythmic needs. So somehow in the real making of this video, they recorded a body actor that could have been Heap, or something like it, moving through a rotunda and then in after-effects did her face and lip synching. Or it was %100 digital from the beginning, like the Final Fantasy CGI film. Or something like it, somewhere in between perhaps. Heap doesn't admit to the editing trickery, which leaves you to wonder what really is going on in the tech world. "The best lack all conviction while the worst are full of passionate certainty something is up in the tech world." Maybe it's not just the tech world and it's Descartes Demon, who happens to have a Heap fetish, the cause for all the disturbia?
