Awesome track from industrial/EBM band Front Line Assembly, from the single "Provision" (1990) taken off their album "Caustic Grip" (1990). Also available in their "Reclamation" (1997) compilation of singles as "Provision (12'' extended mix)".

Lyrics:

"Well I guess there's nothing for us to worry about,

We're the ones who've got control."

Look at all the fools

With their eyes sticking out

Backup, backup.

Deceived by the hype

They all want control

Backup, backup.

No tomorrow,

There's no life today

Backup, backup.

Decayed by the plague

Erosion starts

Backup, backup.

They find all their problems

Revenge is sweet

Backup, backup.

We'll steal your dreams,

Control your minds

Persecute the fools,

Left behind

The realm of the freaks,

Is to solve the demise

We'll ravage the poor,

Blinded by lies

Avoid all the victims

Who pray for power

Backup, backup.

The slaughter starts now,

Without a warning

Backup, backup.

The realm of the freaks,

Is to solve the demise

Backup, backup.

Backup, backup

Hold, hold their faith

Avoid all the victims

Who pray for power

Backup, backup.

"It is not safe to hope for the best, without preparing for the worst"

"Our image is not tarnished, we need not to become militaristic"

Sooner or later

We all pay the price

Backup, backup.

The shame and the pain of the mordant view

Backup, backup.

Corrosive devotion

The slate is cleansed

Backup, backup.

We'll steal your dreams,

Control your minds

Persecute the fools,

Left behind

The realm of the freaks,

Is to solve the demise

Ravage the lifeless,

Blinded by lies

Sooner or later

We all pay the price

We'll steal your dreams,

Control your minds

Persecute the fools,

Left behind.

Yeah, that's the one. It's Probably their best compilation album, in my opinion anyway.

Looks like it's on both, I don't have the 12" but I've got Reclamation. I don't have any FLA vinyl at all, I could have bought the "Echogenetic" 12" at their Glasgow gig last week but I figured since I don't have a record player any more it would be kinda pointless. Of course, I should have bought it just to look at from time to time but never mind.....

How funny is that - I have the same preferences, but adding NIN and "Cooler Than Jesus". The entire compilation makes for a very unusual mix. After all these years it is still one of the most heard albums in my collection.

In honor of Canada day, I'm sharing some tunes from some of my favorite Canadian artists.

You forgot to mention the almost never ending Murder Inc remix. It shares a personal favorite position together with the FLA remix. A cool album it was indeed. I fished the cassette tape out of a heap of (musical) trash in the local equivalent of a one dollar store. You can imagine my exhilaration once I got home!

I had this on 'Hotwired monster trucks', an 'industial' compilation. This, F242s' headhunter, and the 'sheep on drugs' track blew me away. oh, and consolidated's 'Tool or Die'. Best compilation ever...

Just went to an industrial goth club last night and danced for hours! They were playing a lot of old school material, and this song came on about an hour and a half into the set. Damn, did I break a sweat or two, and I think I did fairly well for my first night out. Sure as hell won't be my last time, either! FLA = endless eargasm!

"Provision" is one of the songs Bill Leeb is most proud of from his entire career, it's easy to see why :-)
