Give a little time for the child within youDon’t be afraid to be young and freeUndo the locks and throw away the keysAnd take off your shoes and socks and run youRun through the meadow and scare off the milking cowsRun down the beach kicking clouds of sandWalk a windy weather dayFeel your face blow awayStop and listenLove you…- - - - - - - - - - - -Song is “Love You” by Free Design

I Cant stop listening too this!Maybe it reminds me of the songs on Sesame Street when I was a kid. But more than that, the arrangement is really quite sophisticated. It's a real ear worm!

I hunted this down because I *knew* I recognized the song in the delta commercial. So pleased to have found this song again...delightful. From a time before "auto-tune."

I know delta has to pay them to use their song in a commercial and all, but free design most definitely owes delta bigtime lol

Like most who have posted I heard this on the Delta Airlines commercial and was fascinated by it and searched it out. Unlike most I have a long background in musics, and the plural is intentional. This piece is an incredible combination of simplicity (which I love) and complexity (which I also love). Many of your responders love the words and the sense of childhood, and I agree - but were they to only do the la,la,la (as they do toward the end) my eyes would dampen as I heard it.My background goes back to being an eight year old boy soprano in a church choir that toured (1943) and then on to being a singer of traditional folk (with acoustic guitar) in my teens - then barbershop and college singing group. I play penny whistle, guitar, Celtic harp, mountain dulcimer, lute, and a few others. I know my classical music well having been in choral groups. Not a boast, just background for my comments. My choirmaster was a bit of a curmudgeon (and a bit salty mouthed for a church organist). He had many sayings to motivate us. One was "any damned fool can shout, only a singer can sing softly". In these days of "singers" who shout into a microphone that is inches from their lips hearing Free Design would have been a pleasure just for that. Side bar, singing "softly" doesn't mean not carrying the room - it means being able to support the sound without shouting it.I ramble on, but will try to get to the point. I went through the other Free Design pieces linked to this YouTube posting, I hear the similarity of approach but none of them have the unique sound of this piece. The are good, but not unique.Love You is simple and subtle, yet complex in the way the voices mix. The back beat, or off beat, background to the simple melody. The alternating of the female unison in front to the male unison in front. The pauses - call them false coda - that then lead to a modulation of the pitch. BTW, an old musical friend once pointed out that a "rest" is a note that is just as important as a played note. The final coda, that isn't final, in the la,la,la segment is beautiful - then we are hit with the repeat at half time. What a finish. This is a masterpiece that a child can love - and that a musician can love - and everybody in between. I will play it again once I finish this message.Best, Jon
