I'm looking back now at one of the great fathers of Israel, namely Jacob, who met somebody as a man and wrestled with him overnight ... As it turns out, the man he is wrestling with is supernaturally endowed with strength and he puts one of Jacob’s joint out just by touching him. Jacob then is very humbled by this encounter and afterwards, the place where it happened is called “PENIEL” which means THE FACE OF GOD (Genesis 32:30). Jacob encountered God who might as well have killed him, for nobody can see God’s face and live, yet, here was Jacob’s encounter at the place called “The face of God” that changed him. I see Jacob now, humbled and his name changed in commemoration of what happened because God is the God of second chances!
