"Puttin' on the Ritz" is a popular song written and published in 1929 by Irving Berlin and introduced by Harry Richman in the musical film Puttin' on the Ritz (1930). The title derives from the slang expression "putting on the Ritz," meaning to dress very fashionably. The expression was inspired by the swanky Ritz Hotel.

Now that this song is nearly one hundred years old, yes it is true what has been is what will be...sometimes peoples musical creativity drys up and they go back to the past. I enjoy old music and new, what a difference it was to make your living as a musician 100 years ago, well that "old timey music" will live forever, this is certainly more enduring than some modern pop.

Awful version. To have heard this live you would have masturbated in the gents, you handsome fellows! Gorgeous gals with their pussies ready for your excited hard dicks! Have I broken a taboo in 2015? I apologise for my candour, gentlemen. Sex is so vulgar, isn't it? Let's get back to Obama's policies...

It's like that old music doesn't age after a certain age. I'm fairly sure someone will listen to this in 10-20-30 maybe even 40 years from now.

I posted something similar on another listing of this recording. It was recorded on March 26, 1930 in London with a small orchestra including Max Goldberg (trumpet), Ted Heath (trombone) and Spike Hughes (drums) and is easily the hottest version of this tune.

Sensacionalissimo maestro!!! I love it!!! I grew up listening to the 80's remake of this original, yet for some reason I enjoy this version much better.
