Send-up as in parody I guess, at least I feel the same as that guy, this song does sound like a parody to "To be with you"

@Metalborn69 You need to listen to some of Land of the Freaks. It's a really heavy album compared to their earlier stuff.

@Metalborn69 That is a purely subjective claim, but both are really great bands

@YourNamex I lol at the fact you don't know mr. Big (with Paul fucking Gilbert!) had a hit called "To Be With You" some years back! :D

@YourNamex 'To Be With You' is a song by the band Mr. Big. It has nothing even vaguely similar to this song, except for maybe the key. xD I don't think redskullz124 has any idea what he's talking about

@YourNamex He meant a homage. Mr. Big's "To Be With You" with Paul Gilbert on guitar. It's got the same tonal quality through the song. He never said Freak Kitchen were ripping them off.

Comparing this song with "To Be With You" is like comparing "Walk This Way" with "Fistf**king God's Planet". You know... because both have guitars in it. Seriously, this it's pretty incomparable, just like IA and Paul are. Both rock, each of 'em in their own unique way. Okay, they've one similarity, they both are extremely kind and open to their fans.

The vocals on this song sound a lot like Eric Martin. Just the feel of it, not the melody. I'm not saying Freak Kitchen's copying Mr Big, I'm not saying he's selling out. I'm just saying that this song for better or worse kinda sounds like a Mr Big parody/tribute. Except for the instrumental break which has IA's stamp all over it. Feel free to disagree.

I've had the pleasure of spending two Freak Guitar Camps with IA, and not only I would say that he is the most innovative tock guitarist out there but he is just as amazing as a person. Truly inspiring. You have to understand the humour behind his music. He is a huge Zappa fan ( Hence the mistake he can sound like Vai when really his influence is Frank) On the other hand this song DOES remind me of Mr. Big. Not sure its the style, or it is similar to a song in particular. Must check....
