A perfect song for Frankie's voice. Just the type to make people who have not heard the song before "sit up and pay attention" cheers Mark, Ernie.

When you mentioned that you had uploaded this song, I realized that it was you, your channel, that did it some years ago. Perhaps I couldn't find the song when I searched, because I searched Terrier (this starts with: drill). Thanks again my friend in the States. Just love this song, as you know.

@markalson1938 It will be great. Tnx again. This is one of Frankie's songs I've heard some time ago on an old tape recorder but was not able to find it on the net.

@TheLang0lier Yes, I know the song you are talking about, The song is titled "On A Monday" It is from his 1960 album "Balladeer". It came out right after Johnny Cash's "I Got Strips". Johnny was always singing about being in Prison and I think this is basically the same song with the wording changed so that he doesn't say he's in prison but leaves it up to the lisener to assume it. In the next few days I'll put it on You Tube.

Tnx a lot for posting. You are the best, thanks to you I''ve heard several songs of frankie I''ve never heard before. PS:There was a song I've heard once. It was definitely Frankie Laine , I searched for it but was not able to find it. The text was almost identical to Johnny Cash's "I Got Stripes". Never I Found information about Frankie singing the song but I am sure it was him when I heard it. If anyone knows about it it will be you.

@rileyjeffs Ernie, you like everything, but I agree with you no one else could do a song like this except Frankie.

@petereuropa You were right, peter! I just listened to this song for the first time and it's a real knockout! The late great Mr Laine really knew how to sing a ballad; love his exuburant gusto! MANY thanks for telling me about this treasure of a tune! :-)

In Sweden the other side of the single was : Strange Lady in Town - I remember that because I loved this song. From this song I registred the information yesterday on Wikipedia with info this song: Mulligan Stew (read about it). I was curious about the word Mulligan. I play golf. Now I know that story too

Brilliant performance from Frank! I recall this was released as the flipside of Cool Water on the Philips label in the UK.

You can really feel how the Tarriers lived and worked those days. It was a hard life, but they worked on and on. What a voice he had! What a song! Thank's a lot for sharing.

Frankie Laine was an underrated singer. Columbia made a great mistake by not pairing Tony Bennett and Frankie Laine is a few songs. That would have been incredible!
