Foi quando eu percebi que tinha que começar a mudar as coisas para manter a continuidade na minha pista de dança."Frankie KnucklesQuando Frankie Knuckles foi para Chicago tocar em uma boate chamada The Warehouse, o clube não tinha uma política musical, então ele estava livre para experimentar novas técnicas. Com esta nova forma de Disco, o clube rapidamente se tornou muito frequentado, sendo seu público com predominância negra, latina e homossexual. Inicialmente o termo House era utilizado para falar sobre o clube que continha este estilo, depois começou a ser utilizado para falar sobre a música, atitude e roupas pela população de Chicago. Até onde se sabe, foi assim que o House se tornou um estilo musical.
