Recorded entirely on a Fairlight synth. Wish I'd kept mine despite its issues!

Just an immense track - Trevor Horn and Holly Johnson were a perfect combination. But TOTP didn't do air-con in 1984? Grr!

I went to Blackpool on a red hot day in '84, it seemed that everyone in town was wearing a Frankie Says t-shirt

The pop event of 1984, the year they owned in a crowded field. Band Aid was and remains very important, but in terms of musical spectacle Frankie stole the show with three number ones. Two Tribes articulated the fears of a nuclear war and the desire for peace. Thirty years later the production of Trevor Horn and Paul Morley's promotional genius have rarely been bettered.

I find it so embarressing that these people MIME to their songs. It's a huge form of artistic deceit.
