Frankie Dep about his track and video:
"'The Tattoo I Wanted' tells a story of a particular time in my life. My girlfriend and I were going through a tough time, and we promised each other that if we got out of that rough patch we would get a tattoo. Unfortunately, I could not find a tattoo to honor our promise. Then I decided to write a song instead. Thus the track title 'The Tattoo I Wanted.'
When 2000 and One decided to release my track with two remixes on vinyl, I was thrilled. The song I produced was being made into something material, much deeper than a tattoo could ever be. In the video I'm searching for something, which in the end turns out to be Mariantonietta. 'The Tattoo I Wanted' release is my real tattoo that signifies my commitment to her."
Video by Tiziano Doria.

Born in the south of Italy in 1987, Francesco de Paola never intended to end up as a DJ/producer. He graduated in biomedical engineering. But his love for music, fuelled by the presence of musicians in his family, eventually led him to be a regular presence in the Turin clubbing scene. He started to follow his passion for electronic dance music and played the decks at Turin's most famous clubs.
He also started producing, releasing his first EP in 2012. His style moves on the verge of old skool and new skool, and does so perfectly. For this EP, Frankie Dep has created a luscious deep house track, on which 2000 and One and Danny Serrano each have taken their own point of view.
With 'The Tattoo I Wanted', Frankie Dep has made a killer debut on Area Remote.
TRACKLISTING
A: THE TATTOO I WANTED
B1: THE TATTOO I WANTED [2000 AND ONE'S CHICAGO ACID HOUSE DUB]
B2: THE TATTOO I WANTED [DANNY SERRANO REMIX]
THE TATTOO I WANTED
The dark, voluptuous beat and the suspenseful synthesizer strings combined with the metallic sound effects create a mysterious vibe that leaves you longing for more. This track will --like a tattoo does- stay with you.
THE TATTOO I WANTED [2000 AND ONE'S CHICAGO ACID HOUSE DUB]
With a surging beat and lots of room for the pronounced percussions, 2000 and One has preserved the ink black feeling of the original track but added his own special flavour: Savvy as always, but oh so good.
THE TATTOO I WANTED [DANNY SERRANO REMIX]
Full of soul, swing and extremely funky, Danny Serrano has created a tech house version of 'The Tattoo I Wanted'. A real party number, but with that classic juice that soaks the entire EP.
