I love Zappa, but I must say- he probably should have given a songwriting/collaboration credit for this one to Santana (check out Carlos' 1974 song "Life is Anew" from his album Borboletta if you need convincing)

This is one of the most brilliant tracks that Zappa ever produced. It sounds all jazzy and out of control with the band and "the click track is totally irrelevant" and then suddenly at 7:27, the band and singers suddenly all drop into the "pretty good musicians" chorus in perfect harmony. Well rehearsed or what?
