I'll never smile again

Until I smile at you

I'll never laugh again

What good would it do

For tears would fill my eyes

My heart would realize

That our romance is through

I'll never love again

I'm so in love with you

I'll never thrill again

To somebody new

Within my heart

I know I will never start

To smile again

Until I smile at you

Within my heart

I know I will never start

To smile again

Until I smile at you

I discovered that this record was number one on the day I was born - September 12, 1940. I was unaware of this until recently. But coincidentally I have always liked the song and Frank Sinatra is among my favourite singers.

Despite the cover art, I don't believe this is a re-recording of the song in the 60s. It sounds like the original version.

1940 - "Billboard" magazine published its first listing of best-selling singles. 10 songs were on the list. This held the #1 spot.#dapimusic #mymusichangout #popularmusic #tommydorsey #franksinatra #billboardcharts #onthisday #onthisdate

I don't know that I've heard Sinatra this young... He sounds so tame. His voice is so completely in check. And the Pipers are just lovely.

There are no tears enough in my eyes, to erase the beautiful memories that this song brings me of a good love I didn't deserve!

was never hugh Frank fan but always loved this song, heard Big Band Music growing up and this is still one of my fav songs. i understand(if my poor memory serves me well) that this was a poem written by a woman who had lost her husband, as a tribute thanks for the post, am crying as i listen to it. reminds me of my late dad and mom
