You're wrong Epf1961! I could listen to Frank all day! And I've been a fan since my teens...

Lyrics composed are very profound, reflecting a perspective on how to enjoy, rather savor the beautiful things in life for a full life and attempt to live forever towards immortality! What a wish to continue living a stated in the vey last line - And I would be younger than spring!

Magic, pure magic. Yes, who does write music and lyrics like this anymore?, Hardly a word is repeated, somewhere, a long time ago I seem to remember Jimmy Durante sittiing on the edge of the stage 'singing' this. Not in the same class obviously but something rather poignant as he looked like 'an old man' and the sadness of old age came through. Thanks for the effort in posting this lovely music.

I perform songs of this genre (classic standards).. I'm about to add this one to the repertoire.. Gorgeous tune. I also write songs in this style, but to write one like THIS, holy smoke.. To write a song like this (does anyone even TRY to anymore?) and have it live on forever: To me that's one of the highest achievements a man can claim.. Sadly, in 2013 a song like this can never really fly-- The masses have lost their "ear" for this kind of music, I'm afraid.

Nobody comes close to Frank Sinatra's singing, he was/is the very best.

Gordon Jenkins wrote this in 1958. This is Frank's "valedictorian" version- with Jenkins as arranger/conductor- recorded on April 22, 1965. Only Tony Bennett's 1963 rendition matches this one....
