Frank Sinatra admired Mario Lanza and said if he had a voice like Mario's he would put a birdcage around it and not let anyone go near it! Too bad Mario only lived to be 38!

One of the best uses of a song in a movie (in my opinion!) was this song in Woody Allen's "Radio Days." To me the song and scene were perfect together. I'm not a critic so I don't know how else to say it. But if nothing else, the film led me to this song.

We can't forget Axel Stordahl's gorgeous orchestration as a critical part of this effort. His masterful use of strings helps this song soar to the reaches of the outer universe.

To those who would challenge the appelation "The Voice" bestowed on Frank early in his career I urge them to listen to this recording. It seems operatic in nature with Frank risking it all by taking his God given voice to its limit in conveying the story of the start of a romance that is so unbelievably beautiful that it seems to be almost a fantasy. Thus the lyric: "If you're a fantasy then I'm content to be in love with lovely you."
