One of Sinatra's famous songs, this one, I Only Have Eyes for You, was recorded by Sinatra in 1945, before it was popularized by the Flamingos in 1959.

Personally this version is much better than the Flamingos'.

This isn't Bing Crosby and it's not the Flamingos either. Nor is it Art Garfinkel. It's Frank Sinatra. This is what he sounded like in 1945. This is the kind of accompaniment he had then, the mixture, so familiar then, of legato violins and staccato brass, plus the back-up group, possibly the Pied Pipers.

This is Not Frank. He did sing this song. But this is not him. Beautiful song no matter who sings it.

Frank always had it where it counts. The Flamingos may have given this song a unique rhythm to it, but you can't beat an original... especially when sang by Frank.

i'm actually looking for the version which includes the introductory verses: "My love must be a kind of blind love/ I don't see anyone but you/ And dear, I wonder if you find love/ An optical illusion, too?" This was the version we used as standard number for a harana in the exuberant days of yore. Too bad, takers cannot be chosers:)
