Neal Hefti wrote the swinging arrangement for"At Long Last Love" for Sinatra, and it was from the 1938 production of "You Never Know"... it's a great up-beat happy song! Sinatra valued Porter perhaps more than any other composer. He certainly sang more of his songs except for his own writing team : Jimmy Van Heusen and Sammy Cahn. All through the years that Frank entertained us, he always sang one Porter tune again and again. That song is the very sad and poignant "I Get a Kick out of You"! I think it's very telling that Sinatra turned to the music of Cole Porter the entire duration of his career. Porter wrote the type of lyrics that Frank could sink his teeth into! In the movies, Frank had the great opportunity to sing Porter's songs in "High Society" and "Can Can". If ever there was a perfect match between composer and singer it was for sure:Frank and Cole! Frank of course was a straight man chasing after Ava Gardner all of his life, whereas Cole was gay and wrote lyrics that could only have come from the pen of a Gay man. So when I mention struggle and creativity going hand in hand, there really is no better example than Cole. He had to hide his true self and he had to deal with his disability from the accident....but this didn't stop him. He had the determination to make a success of his life no matter what obstacles stood in his way....This is DBS....and I'll be back in a moment with some more of Cole Porter's Aladdin like magic!

you judge an artist by their simplicity----no gimmicks,lights,etc-------just a mic & black tie- naked on a stage, singing live...exposed--------------------now how do you perform?????? todays artists cant pull it off...............
