quit nit picking. It comes from the same place and has the same roots. It falls under one category "string music" no need to put labels on things.

Ahh frank fairfield is my FAVORITE oldtime musician. Hes the best. Hes the only one with a pure folk/oldtime sound. I always show my friends oldtime music like franks and then they show me bands like infamous stringdusters, yonder mountain string band, string cheese incident, or other bluegrass bands. They are BLUEGRASS, and IMO there's a HUGE difference between Bluegrass and oldtime. I am not fond of bluegrass, but they dont get it. THIS IS NOT BLUEGRASS, bluegrass was not around till the 30s

@HansBluejacket I was going to comment on how a person having a mustache doesn't make him a hipster because I figured Frank would be playing the banjo and I figured you figured Frank was a hipster. Then I saw the guy that WAS playing the banjo....But I would still say no group of people can ruin the banjo, watch Frank play it.

The sound he gets out of that little piece of rosin in the beginning is INCREDIBLE.

@MichaelAndHisBanjo It is a fiddle tune called "Sweet Milk and Peaches." Narmour and Smith made a 78 of it in the 1920's.
