The greatest of all time; when I hear people comparing the VOICE with Kaufman and other contemporary dogs the only answer I can think about is "Send them to the gallows"....then I listen to Maestro Franco and everything is at peace again.

Even an old atheist is moved by this gorgeous music and the great Corelli.

LOL, somehow it doesn't sound this way when my Cantor & I sing it at Midnight Mass or on Holy Thursday. On a serious note - listen to this & then immediately switch to a Boccelli or Groban version. It's amaing the difference in diction & classic pronounciation.

No. Because why yes? Stronger? what is that... more voice volume? What is sweeter? My mother is sweeter that anyone other? Yes, and no. Less emotional? Total subjectivism. You may say: "I feel more emotion listening to Corelli singing Panis Angelicus than when I listen to Pavarotti". I feel the contrary and some time the same but is not a sentence. You like more Corelli (perhaps). I like more Pavarotti (on this piece)

Corelli's last breath while singing "Mal Regendo" brings me to tears every time. No one has ever sung this aria with so much intensity.

Corelli had formidable vocal power, but what is often overlooked is his ability to sing pianissimo. I have not heard anyone sing softly with the same intensity as Corelli.

Pearlaceous - You're perfectly correct. Point well taken.

@lindamoggioable I don't want to make comparisons between two masters. They both give unforgettable performances and it depends on personal taste. Pavarotti will always be my favourite singer of this, but Corelli's is also a Great rendtion.

Corelli - Clearer, stronger, more emotional than Pavarotti Pavarotti - Sweeter than Corelli, smaller voice, less emotional. No?

@kingstontry è un tipo di voce completamente diversa:Pavarotti faceva pena nel Trovatore e Corelli straordinario.

@amceagle1 Dear amegal., I don't think exposing to the next generation is really worth doing, the next generation have to do their own digging into history; for continuing inspriation. Cheers. from, del-boy.
