I think the point of the show back then at least..was the quality of the song and not all the visuals and how well the singer could sing or how good looking the singer was ( Frances Ruffelle versus Charlie McGettigan ! !) .....also I may add the performance on the night was important ..but back then the better songs usually won rather than .....the vocal quality and talent of the singer .....and later on .....crazy gimmicks...like bearded Transexuals... or block voting from Eastern Europe Nations

I like almost every song from ESC 1994, but this song is special...probably my favorite of the whole decade.

Suprised she sings it as well as she does - guess I'm used to dubious singing 'talents' we are subjected to these days

so ahead of it's time!!!! should have been top 3. Sounds like a early darkchild/stargate production, f-g amazing!!!! This year uk has sent a crappy waterman song but this song is a true classic!!!!!!!! love the background singers!!!!!

Yes, it definitely should have won, but it's pretty much common knowledge that the best song hardly ever wins. And in this case, it didn't even come close! The juries were really out of it that year, only redeeming themselves with top 2-4 if you ask me, all of which were great.

My favourite UK entry; a subliminal, powerful and atmospheric song. It's perfectly crafted and a fabulous, moving melody too, performed truly inspiringly by Frances Ruffelle and excellently arranged in every way. It makes my hairs stand on end; this is what Eurovision is all about.
