You'd never know Kanye produced this because it sounds nothing like his musical aesthetic. It sounds like Kayne trying to sound like Trackmasters. I'm happy he found himself musically and went on to do amazing genre changing music. Foxy's decision to let Beanie and Jay write most of the China doll album was a bad decision. Jay wanted crossover money and tried to make it fit into MTV's playlist but the end product was way too watered down. Just like his crossover attempt uber failure of a song titled "Sunshine". Foxy lost her edge... but even though China Doll was a huge disappointment, she'll always have the near perfect masterpiece of "Ill Na Na". She made that album at 16 years old. If it were any other genre of music we'd be calling her a prodigy. But urban music and musicians are rarely given that title.
