PAUL,IS IT REALLY TRUE THAT THE BEATLES INVITED THE SEASONS TO PREFORN ON THE ENDING OF THE HEY JUDE TRACK? I KNOW ,YEARS LATER,GAUDIO HAD LUNCH WITH LENNON,AND HE INDICATED IT WAS 1 OF HIS FAVORITE SEASONS LPS! BUT I HAD NEVER HEARD ABOUT THE SESSION INVITE.WOULD HAVE BEEN COOL AND PEHAPS MADE GAZETTE POSSIBLY MORE SUCCESSFUL? YOUR THOUGHTS?

I still remember the commercials on the radio for this album; The Four Seasons Have Never Done Anything Like This, But Then......., Neither Has Anyone Else." So True! I loved the Four Seasons then, and I still do. In 1969 they seemed to be at the end of their very successful run. Then along comes GILG. It was so cool with all the inserts and newspaper parodies. It almost didn't seem like a Four Seasons record, but it was, and it was a great one.

This album is one of the best of the 1960s. Underrated and underappreciated. I love it, always have. When I heard the orchestra opening of "American Crucifixion Resurrection", I knew it was something special and unique. I'm a music free-lance writer, and I write about flip-sides. I chose "Something's On Her Mind." Joe Long shared his thoughts with me about the song via email. "Gazette" is his favorite album. Love the video you put together for this joeobrien68!

Frankie sings the bridges on this one. I liked the lp when it came out in January, '69. I like it today.

Sure some may say this is the wrong album for the four seasons but there music changed through out the years since sherry and big girls dont cry this album is the psychadelic album i like very much and the title track does feature hey jude chorus at the end found out they were invited to be part of the beatles session but couldnt make it so the seasons asked them if they could use the ending part of the song for the title track

A terrific album with intelligent lyrics and ambitious song structures ! Psych collectors and 4 Seasons fans are still divided over this record ... just put it on and enjoy it !
